Blackjack table is typically semi-circular with 5-7 seats for players generally. The players sit on the arc-side of the table. There is a dealer standing in front of them inside of the table. The table usually is of a uniform color. Cards and cheques are usually placed in this area. Rack of checks, deck of cards and the discard tray is placed in this part of the table. Outer side of the table is left free for the players to keep their cheques at that place which are not currently in use. There are special spots where each of the players has to place his cards and cheques.
Deck of cards is the most important in this game with 52 cards without jokers. In blackjack there are multiple deck of cards such as 2, 6 or 8 decks of cards. Shoe is the container for the deck cards to hold them which is generally made of plastic. Suits of the cards are not considered important in this game; just their numbers are used for the game to play with. Cards having numbers 2 to 10 have the same value as their number. All the face cards have the same value equal to ten. An Ace is of value either one or eleven depending upon the total value of the hand, which if exceeds the value of 21 then the value of ace will be considered as 1, otherwise eleven.
Cheques are used to pay the wagers. These are usually in the form of small discs made of clay and are color coded. White color disc is used for $1, red is used for $5, green is used for $25 and black is used for $100. There are various discs for $500, $1000,$5000, $10000 etc.
Player's cheque is placed outside the table whereas the dealer's cheques are placed inside the table on a rack. When a player has to pay his wager, he places his cheque on a particular spot on the table. At the end of each hand the dealer draws or places the wagers in the rack, depending on whether the player or the dealer wins. The main goal of the players is to beat the dealer. A player can win the game like casino by getting the total greater than the dealer but less than 21. If it goes higher than 21 then the player busts. Another way is to remain in the game with total less than 21 while the dealer busts.
